Candidate for council member for the environment and climate adaptation
Mgr. Ivo Vojáček
č. 4The environment is changing dramatically. We face a big task: to care for it so that it's good to live in not only for us, but for the generations after us.
A few months ago I became a father, and that makes me care even more about the environment we will live in as a society ten or twenty years from now. I try to do my best for my family, and I feel the same responsibility for the district we live in. That is why I am running for council member for the environment in Prague 5.
I work above all on environmental protection and energy. Alongside that, security matters to me too, which is why I serve in the Active Reserve of the Czech Armed Forces: that is not something we can afford to take for granted either.
My studies at Masaryk University led me to the environment and energy, and so did my whole career. I worked at the Ministry of the Environment in the Department of Energy and Climate Change.
In 2022, as a national expert, I was part of the negotiating team for the revision of the emissions trading directive during the Czech presidency of the Council of the EU. In the private sector, as a business development manager at the investment company PORTIVA a.s., I developed renewable energy projects.
I currently work at Prague City Hall as an analyst and adviser to Deputy Mayor Jana Komrsková, who is responsible for the environment and the climate plan, so right where the city's climate policy is actually made.
I am a proud newcomer and I chose Prague 5 as my home. I live here with my family and this is where things matter to me. I want Prague 5 to be a modern district, ready for the challenges of the 21st century, among which the environmental ones hold a key place.
What I want to push through
- Systematic rollout of climate adaptation measures
- A smart system for street cleaning and care of greenery
- More grant funding for environmental protection projects
