Priority 02
Barrandov
Barrandov is a neighborhood the size of a small town: more than seventeen thousand residents, rapidly growing construction and young families, yet the infrastructure lags behind. There is no high school, so hundreds of students commute every day, and the preschools and elementary schools are at the edge of their capacity. Public space inside the neighborhood is poor, and cultural and community life is practically nonexistent. We have beautiful nature all around, Prokopské údolí, Dívčí hrady and Chuchelský háj, but inside Barrandov there are no places for people to meet. We will bring it back to life, along with services and opportunities to get together.

What exactly, within 4 years
- A council member for the development of Barrandov. Today no one at the district hall is specifically accountable for the neighborhood. We will make sure Barrandov has its own person on the district council with a clear agenda: school capacity, public space, culture and community life, coordination of investments and negotiations with developers. They will meet regularly with residents, local associations and schools, and once a year present publicly what worked and what remains unfinished.
- A high school for Barrandov. The land is ready but the project is not moving. Together with local associations in Barrandov we started a petition. Right after the election we will bring it to the Prague city assembly and, on behalf of Prague 5, provide every possible support so the city puts the school among its investment priorities and finds the money for it.
- Enough places in preschools and schools. We will map the capacity of preschools and elementary schools and how it will develop given construction underway and planned, and build a clear expansion plan on top of it: extending schools, new classrooms and new buildings. We will bring developers into financing school infrastructure so that school development does not come at the expense of culture and community.
- A Barrandov where people meet. We will establish the annual Barrandov Neighborhood Festival as the flagship event of the neighborhood (music, a program for children, local associations, a swap market, food) and add smaller events, concerts and exhibitions outside the center. Key places such as Trnkovo and Tilleho náměstí will gradually become quality urban space with an active street level and a route to Prokopské údolí.
- A low-threshold center for young people. For children and teenagers aged 10 to 18 we will open a space for spending free time meaningfully, and to a limited extent also counseling, as prevention of risky behavior.

Barrandov doesn't need more studies. It needs one person who is accountable for it.Lenka SobotkováCandidate for council member for the development of Barrandov
