Privacy policy
This is an informational translation. The legally binding version of this page is the Czech one.
This policy describes how the Piráti Praha 5 website processes visitors' personal data and what rights you have under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR). Last updated: 6. 7. 2026.
1. Who is the data controller
The controller of personal data is Česká pirátská strana, company ID 71339698, registered at Na Moráni 360/3, 128 00 Praha 2, in the context of the election campaign for the Prague 5 district assembly. On matters of personal data protection, contact us at praha5@pirati.cz.
2. What data, for what purpose and on what legal basis
Campaign news (newsletter)
If you subscribe, we process your email address in order to send information about the campaign and our platform. Because this is a political party newsletter, the data relates to your political opinion, which is a special category of personal data under Article 9 GDPR. The legal basis is therefore your explicit consent under Article 9(2)(a) GDPR (together with Article 6(1)(a)), which you give by checking a separate box and which we verify by double opt-in. You can withdraw your consent at any time via the link in every email or at praha5@pirati.cz; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.
Communication with us
When you contact us by email or through a form, we process the data you provide in order to handle your query. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in replying (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), or your consent.
Traffic measurement and marketing
With the consent given in the cookie bar we measure traffic (Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager and the Stape server container), analyze on-page behavior using anonymous heatmaps (Microsoft Clarity) and display content from social networks (Facebook). We do not use remarketing or any other ad targeting based on your behavior on this site. For details, the specific cookies and an explanation of consent mode, see our cookie policy.
Running and securing the site
To run and protect the site we process technical data for no longer than necessary (for example the IP address in logs, in form rate limiting and in error reports). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the security and functionality of the site (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
3. Who we share data with (processors)
To keep the site running we use vetted providers that process data on our instructions:
- Vercel Inc. (website hosting and performance measurement),
- Google Ireland Ltd. (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager) and Stape (server-side measurement),
- Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd. (Microsoft Clarity: heatmaps and behavior analysis),
- Ecomail.cz, s.r.o. (newsletter delivery),
- Functional Software, Inc. / Sentry (error tracking),
- Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. (displaying content from Facebook) and Behold (Instagram preview).
Some providers (Google, Meta) may process data outside the EU as well; in that case the transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards under the GDPR, in particular standard contractual clauses.
4. How long we keep the data
- email for the newsletter: until consent is withdrawn or the campaign ends,
- content of communication: for as long as needed to handle and document it,
- measurement data: for the period set in the measurement service and according to the consent given,
- technical and security logs: short term, on the order of days to weeks.
5. Automated decision-making
We do not carry out automated decision-making with legal effects, nor profiling with similarly significant consequences for you, on the basis of your data. We do not target ads at you based on your behavior on this site.
6. Your rights
In relation to your data you have the right to:
- access your data and have it corrected,
- erasure and restriction of processing,
- data portability,
- object to processing based on legitimate interest,
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
You can exercise these rights at praha5@pirati.cz. If you believe we process data in breach of the rules, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Praha 7, uoou.cz).
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, in particular when the tools we use change. The current version is always available on this page together with the date of the last update.
